Are there privacy issues on internet retrievals?

Is there any reason to be any more concerned about privacy before setting up price retrievals than say, simply loading a web page from someones site? What, if anything, can they or a third party see? Yes, I'm one of those individuals thats concerned about "Big Brother" or the "Beast" knowing my personal finances as we get ever more near a "cashless world". i.e. No currency needed, just a mark or chip or something.
