: Hi Mark;
: would you explain the differences in % gain I & %gain V ?
: Thank you

Hi L. D.,

These are both % Gain numbers, neither are yields. To see
a definition of these please create a "Portfolio Performance"
report and then select "Help/Help on Report". It will show
the definition of each field in the online help.

The %Gain-V is simply (end - beg)/beg

The %Gain-I is (end + dist_dist + redemptions - purchases)/purchases
where purchases is the beginning value plus any money you added.

Percent gains can be misleading, depending on when money went into
an investment. Yields on the other hand factor in when the money
went into the investment.

Thanks,
Mark
