: I did what you suggested and the symbol for MIR are as I listed in yesterdays post and yahoo honors that symbol. But when I changed the symbol through investment Properties , it didn't change the symbol in my FM data folder. There is no MIRKQ. PK in my data folder and FM doesn't recognize MIR any more either. Hope you have a solution.??

Hi Lawrence,

When you change the symbol property of your investment, that does not
change the investment's filename. This is why you wouldn't see a MIRKQ.PK
file in your data folder. The investment filename and symbol are
independent. The default filename when you create a new investment is
derived from the symbol, but they don't need to be the same for any reason,
other than maybe it makes it easier to keep track of the file.

I created an investment with the symbol of MIRKQ.PK and did an internet
retrieve from Yahoo. It worked correctly, and updated the price for 7/22
to 0.231, which is the same as it is reported on Yahoo.

I did notice that you have a space in the symbol above. There is a space
after the period in your post. Do you really have that? You shouldn't have
any spaces anywhere in the symbol, that would cause the price retrieve to fail.

Thanks,
Mark
