: : : As I understand it if the same stock is owned in multiple portfolios it is unable to be merged as one item in the "all" portfolio. This might result in the same stock commanding several lines in the "all" portfolio. This seems a common "bugbear" with a number of users.

: : : 1. Has anyone found a work around solution?

: : : 2. Is this issue likely to be covered in upgraded versions?

: : Hi Gary,

: : You can track the same stock from multiple portfolios, and have them all
: : also in a single "all" portfolio. They just each need to have separate
: : filenames, or be stored in different directories. If you owned IBM
: : from 2 brokerages, save the investments as IBM1.dat and IBM2.dat, or put
: : them each in their own directory, and then you could call them both IBM.dat.

: : When you put both IBM1.dat and IBM2.dat into the "all" portfolio, they
: : will each show up on their own line in reports. Are you asking to have
: : all the IBM's from different brokerages merged into a single line in a
: : report?

: : Currently, the only time these 2 different investments get counted
: : together is in the "Pie Chart / Symbol" and "Stacked Value / Symbol"
: : graphs.

: : Thanks,
: : Mark

: Thanks Mark for you fast reply - yes it would be great if two parcels of the same stock would be merged on one line - obviously we are talking about Master & sub portfolios. What are chances of this being done? :-)

Hi Gary,

Master and sub portfolios is definitely something we would like to add.
Thanks for the feedback, that helps.

Thanks,
Mark
