Hi Mark.. some questions on FM/OS file management.

I'm tracking 9 portfolios.

Mine - Regular
Mine - Rollover
Mine - IRA
Spouse - Regular
Spouse - Spousal PreTax IRA
Spouse - Spousal AfterTax IRA
Trust Account
1st Child - Regular
2nd Child - Regular

Several investments are for similar funds/stocks - I used the same symbols, but saved in the appropriate sub-dir (folder).

I now have all the portfolio.mm4 files in the root of FM, and individual folders under th folder [My_Data].

I do notice that on closing FM, there is a backup issue with identical names in the [autoback] folder.

My folder set up followed the original setup protocol:

C:\Program Files\Fund Manager\My_Data

Empty of files, contains only the 9 directories (folders) for the individual portfolios

C:\Program Files\Fund Manager\Autoback

Appears to have everything commingled.

QUESTION:

1 - Have I got this right?
2 - Should I be concerned about the autoback commingling? No issue(s) so far.
3 - Should I place the mm4 files in the [My_data] folder, so they can be archived as an entirety for back-up purposes?
4 - Any comments or suggestion on the file location / management?

TIA for setting my mind straight -= Chris ß =-
