: : : : : : Hi Mark, : : : : : : For quite some time I have been retrieving the Canadian currency exchange rate (Symbol ^CCD) using the Yahoo quote server and it has always retrieved it in the format .9999 however since the beginning of this month the format has changed to 99.99. Needless to say, this affects my U.S. investments when I convert them to Canadian currency. Has anything changed in this regard? : : : : : : Thanx, : : : : : : Sheldon : : : : : Hi Sheldon, : : : : : I assume you're using the Yahoo quote server? You can find the symbols : : : : : for exchange rates here: : : : : : http://finance.yahoo.com/m3?u : : : : : For the one I believe you're looking for, you would use: : : : : : CADUSD=X : : : : : They have the conversions available in either direction. The value for : : : : : CADUSD=X is 0.7457,and the value for USDCAD=X is 1.3411. : : : : : Thanks, : : : : : Mark : : : : : -- : : : : : Mark Beiley : : : : : : : : : : Fund Manager, portfolio management software for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/00/XP : : : : : : : : : Mark: : : : : I have the same problem, the exchange rates are now out by a factor of 100. In addition, the symbols used in Yahoo's convertor table don't seem to be available when I try to update. It seems like something has changed very recently. : : : : Thanks, : : : : Stew : : : Hi Stew, : : : I do see that the price for ^CCD is being reported as 75.62 currently. It : : : sounds like for some reason Yahoo recently changed it from reporting as : : : 0.7562 to 75.62. I'm not sure why or when, but since it is 75.62 you may : : : want to change to the other symbol (CADUSD=X). I just tested this one, : : : and it retrieves fine from the Yahoo server, with the price like 0.7562. : : : Thanks, : : : Mark : : : -- : : : Mark Beiley : : : : : : Fund Manager, portfolio management software for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/00/XP : : : : : Hi Mark, : : I've got the same problem as discussed here. (Price format changed on Feb 27th) I use the Yahoo-Historical server because I only get updates weekly. The symbol (CADUSD=X) does not work on this server. Do you know of another symbol for this server? If not, can 'Splits' some how be used to adjust the price format? : : Thanks, : : Clive : Hi Clive, : Thanks for pointing this out, I didn't realize these weren't available on : the historical server. In this case, I'd recommend using the "File / File : Operations / Scale Prices..." menu command. You'd want to do this with only : the ^CCD investment open, and scale by 0.01. : Thanks, : Mark : -- : Mark Beiley : : Fund Manager, portfolio management software for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/00/XP :
