How do I transfer Vanguard fund to Admiral shares?

I recently had a Vanguard mutual fund converted from Investor to Admiral status. (This is available once accounts reach a high balance, and offers slightly lower expense ratios, thus improved performance) After the conversion, the NAV is not the same for both funds, nor is the number of shares. The conversion is treated as a
non-taxable event. How can I best effect this conversion, so I can continue to track the original cost when selling the Admiral shares?
