Basically I would like to display the "Investment Overlay - Price + Dist" for a few stocks. What my $100 invested at a certain date in the past would be worth today if all dividends would have been re-invested? I can download historical price information, but how to account for dividends? : : : Thank you. : : : Daniel : : Hi Daniel, : : Yes, to include the dividends you would have to find a source for that data. : : Currently, the Yahoo (Historical) server provides that for stocks, but not : : Canadian funds. I'm not sure where to find this data. You might want : : to check out: : : http://www.canada-stockwatch.com/ : : They may offer the data in a format you can download/import. : : Thanks, : : Mark : : -- : : Mark Beiley : : : : Fund Manager, portfolio management software for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/00/XP : : Hi Daniel, Yes, you can just use the "Yahoo (Adjusted Historical)" server. This server downloads historical prices, back adjusted for dividends and splits. You wouldn't want to use the same data source on investments you own and record distributions for, as you would be double counting the effects of your distributions. For overlaying and comparing performance, this is a good server to use, since it includes the effects of dividends/splits automatically, without you having to import/enter those separately.
