Hi Mark -- still love and use your product to record my dwindling wealth. Unfortunately it runs faster each day!!

I only write messages when I get a new computer, upgrade operating systems or in this case lose a hard drive! Yes, I have backups, however that doesn't make the problem any easier to solve.

It is too simple for you to say "Copy the Report Formats from your old Registry to the new one". How do you do that? Can you have two registry files open at the same time? Can you have an old one open without impaling yourself?

Where do you find the old registry on your old dead computer? Can you guarantee Regedit will do it right? Can you guarantee that I will do it right? The risks of doing it wrong are high and deadly for the entire computer.

May I suggest the Registry should be the last place for you to put this important application data. It is acknowledged by Microsoft to be an "iffy" place to update and needs multiple backups to survive and is subject to all sorts of exciting and surprising problems.

Make them the same format but put these parameters outside the Registry please!

Thanks, Dick Pape
