: I recently received both vested and vesting shares of stock from my company as a bonus. How do I bring in the unvested portion of the shares (which have a purchase price of 36.52) and then track the vesting of shares over time until they are fully vested?

: I had received some stock options last year that have a similar vesting schedule and brought them in at a purchase price of .001 per option and then compute a value of the option each quarter so I can reflect the worth.

: Would the unvested shares be brought in and managed the same way, using the current stock price to compute the current worth at each vesting juncture? What about the original purchase price of the shares, does this matter since the shares are only worth what they can be redeemed for once they mature?

: Thanks,
: Hap

Hi Hap,

There is no built in feature to deal with vesting shares, so you can
track them however you prefer. Some options include just tracking them, as
if you owned all the vested shares, or just recording the shares that you
are already vested in. As more shares vest, add them as a new purchase
to your investment.

Thanks,
Mark
