: PFROI, a DOS program, is no longer supported by CapTools (www.captools.com), although their [expensive] portfolio managment program will import them. I don't want to spend that much on a new program.

: I have been using PFROI for many years and have much investment data entered, so I wanted to find some way to either run the program under XP or export its data to some other program.

: PFROI won't run under Windows XP because there is no real DOS under it. The compatibility tabs still wouldn't make it run.

: A freeware program called DOSBOX that is used for running ancient DOS games on Windows computers provides a real DOS environment that will run this old financial program as well! There is some need to write a few batch file commands, but a few hours of work got it running fine. If you would like further info on them, I can provide it.

: It would still be expedient to find another program to which the PFROI data files could be exported. Any possibility here?

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the info. Fund Manager will import from common formats, such
as Quicken Interchange Format (.QIF), or plain text files. We'll be adding
more import formats in the future as well, but probably not one specifically
for PFROI. The best option is to export from PFROI to a common format, and
then import that into Fund Manager.

Thanks,
Mark
