Earliest to date problem

All of a sudden, the earliest to date doesn't respond. If I add a transaction, and then go to (ALT-V, Dates) dates, it shows the correct last date, but the To: box retains the previous last date. If I attempt to change To: to the real last date, it changes Pre-Defined Range to custom. (6.7.322 is the current version in use.)
