: : I'm trying to set up Fund Manager to keep track of my older mutual funds but can't download historial data any older than June 1996. Is this as far back as Yahoo goes or are there any other sources of older data? (Back to 1/93 would do it)

: Hi Mark,

: Yahoo does go back farther than this, but I believe it depends on what
: symbol you're looking for. For example, JANSX goes back to 1989. If Fund
: Manager isn't able to retrieve it, then you could double check using your
: browser on Yahoo to see if they really don't have the older historical prices.

: Thanks,
: Mark

:

I checked on Yahoo and only two of the seven funds I own have data back as far as I need. Mid '96 seems to be when most of them start.
Would it work to pick the nearest statement date after historical data begins and enter my account values as if they were the beginning balances?

The software seems like it's what I've been looking for if I can get my data entered correctly. I've got statements going back more than a decade but getting all the transactions entered so the balances agree with current statements is going to be a challenge.
Any suggestions you might have will be appreciated.
