: : : : I have some stripped bonds in my portfolio. Each month as they get closer to maturity they incresase in value. How would I be able to relect the increased value of these bonds using Fund Manager, so that the total value of my portfolio is accurate? : : : : Thanks : : : : Dave : : : Hi Dave, : : : Value is simply the # of shares you own, times the share price. So, : : : depending on how you recorded your bonds, you would either need to increase : : : the share price, or the number of shares. To change the share price, just : : : use "Edit / Update Price". : : : Thanks, : : : Mark : : : -- : : : Mark Beiley : : : Fund Manager, portfolio management software for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/00/XP/2003 : : : : : Thanks Mark.... : : However, when I initially entered the bonds I used a price of $1 and the number of shares represented the the purchase value of the bonds. I would like to edit the number of shares which would give me the current value, however, when I go to edit/udate price it doesn't give me a choice to increase the number of shares. Is there another way to increase the number of shares? Perhaps it would work better if I had initally entered the number of shares as 1 and the price as the initial cost of the bond. : : thanks : : Dave : Hi Dave, : Each month you could enter a new reinvested interrest income distribution. : You would keep the $1 price, and enter the number of shares equal to the : amount of increase in value. : Share balances are adjusted with buy/sell transactions. You can use : "Edit / All Data..." and select the "Investments (all)" data type. You : will see your transactions there, and you can add/edit/delete them. : To record a reinvested distribution, just right mouse click on the : investment's graph and choose "Distribution..." from the popup menu. You : can also use the "Edit / All Data..." dialog, and select "Distributions (all)" : under the data type. Click the "New..." button. : Thanks, : Mark : -- : Mark Beiley : Fund Manager, portfolio management software for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/00/XP/2003 : Mark, that works fine. Thanks for the help. Dave
