: : I'm trying to generate a report which lists the stocks I own, the date each was bought, the price I paid per share, the current (or selected date) price per share, and the gain (loss) in dollars/cents, and the gain (loss) in percent.

: : I assume such a useful and basic report is available in this program but I'm having a devil of a job finding it. Anyone help out?

: : Thanks.

: Hi Wesley,

: To create this report you would create a "Custom" report and add these
: fields:

: Current out of pocket invested per share (ending)
: Share price (ending)
: OOP Gain per share (current)
: %Gain (current)

: Note, there are several "date" related fields, but since you could
: have purchased each investment on several dates, there isn't just a
: "Date Purchased" field. To see the dates of your purchases create
: an "Investment Transactions" report.

: Also, the above fields assume you want the "Out of Pocket" cost, which
: is your break even point. There are also similar "Tax Basis" fields.
: The tax basis differs from your out of pocket cost due to received
: distributions. When you receive a distribution your tax basis does not
: go down, but your out of pocket cost does.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Hi Mark

Thanks for your reply and yes, the report you've suggested does present worthwhile information - I take your point about the "Gain" information. I guess what I had in mind was the "Investment Transactions" report simply augmented with the addition of a column for ending price.

Exploring custom reports leads me to make a couple of requests:

1. I think it would be helpful to order the "Available Options" alphabetically. I spend a good while scrolling up and down trying to locate what I'm after.

2. Could you please make the "Copy to Clipboard" report tab-delimited so that it can be readily pasted into a spreadsheet for further processing. I found the text output very unhelpful in this respect.

Thankyou indeed.
