: I am a fund manager 4.7 customer interested in trying out the new Fund Manager 7.0. I want to be able to try it out, and back it out if I decide against upgrading.

: I was thinking of backing up my data directory, possibly uninstalling the 4.7 drop, and installing the 7.0 drop. If I decide to back out the changes, I would then uninstall 7.0 and reinstall 4.7. The only problem is I'm not sure if I still have the registration key for 4.7. Is there a way I can obtain that key from my current working 4.7 version before I uninstalling it?

Hello,

Yes, we can email you your 4.x license. Please just visit our contact form
at:

http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/contact.html

and let us know your name or serial number, and we'll reply with your 4.x
password. You can find that info under "Help / About..." in your current 4.x
program.

Backing up your data first is a good idea. Version 4.7 uses an old
investment and portfolio format, so once you save your data in 7.0, you
won't be able to use that same data in 4.7 anymore.

I'd recommend not uninstalling Fund Manager. You can just install 7.0 right
over your 4.7 installation. Do not uninstall 4.7 first, that will just
erase your preferences as stored in the registry. If you decide to switch
back to 4.7, just install 4.7 over 7.0, and again, do not uninstall 7.0.

Thanks,
Mark
