: Apparently I deleted the Master Portfolio when I was creating my first portfolio. The Portfolio Editor shows my first portfolio but no Master Portfolio in the left part of the window. The Portfolio Editor shows my investments for my first portfolio in the right part of the window. After I created my first portfolio I went to My_Data folder and saw two portfolios.
: I deleted one of these thinking it was not needed. Was it the Master Portfolio? Can I create another? I plan to create other different portfolios.

Hi Nicholas,

The name "Master Portfolio" is just the default name for the initial highest
level portfolio. Is it possible you renamed it? You can do this under the
Properties... dialog for that portfolio. You don't have to have something named
"Master Portfolio". Deleting a portfolio file (*.mm4) will not affect the
names of your sub-portfolios or highest level portfolio in the un-deleted
portfolio file.

Thanks,
Mark
