: Hi,

: can I convert investment files created with FM 7 beta version in a previous version (FM 5.2)?
: I tried invain to open such files (I received an error message).
: Thanks.

Hi Gennaro,

Fund Manager 7.x and 6.x use the same investment file format. However, versions
5.x and earlier used a different file format. The 7.x versions can read
any investment file created with any version, but the 5.x versions can only
read in investment files created with a 5.x or earlier version. In other words,
all Fund Manager versions are fully backward compatible, but older versions
of course are not "forward compatible".

You could export transactions to a .QIF file, and then import those into a
5.x created investment.

Thanks,
Mark
