: Hi Mark, : If I use my browser and go to Yahoo! Finance with the computer having the older version of FM, I can't get historical prices for these symbols? (in this case for example TICON.BK) but I can still retrieve historical data with FM and Yahoo!Historical : In fact, : 1) When using the old version of FM, the stock quote is TICN.BK and historical data can be retrieved. : 2) But on Yahoo!Finance, it has been changed to TICON.BK. If you key in TICN.BK on the browser, you will end up having TICON.BK (still without being able to get the historical prices) : 3) And if using the old FM and the quote TICON.BK, historical data CAN NOT be retrieved. : Any idea on how to correct the problem? : Thanks : TH Hi TH,
I see the problem, and it is unfortunate... Previously, the Yahoo (Historical) server used table.finance.yahoo.com, but we switched it to use finance.yahoo.com when Yahoo changed their site. Now if you look at any detailed quote, they link to the new finance.yahoo.com, and there are no references to the old table.finance.yahoo.com anymore. It seems however that the old table.finance.yahoo.com does still work, and apparently has the quote you're describing, but the new server does not. For example, these are the URLs to these quotes on the old server: http://table.finance.yahoo.com/d?a=0&b=13&c=2005&d=1&e=14&f=2005&g=d&s=TICN.BK http://table.finance.yahoo.com/d?a=0&b=13&c=2005&d=1&e=14&f=2005&g=d&s=TICON.BK and these are to the new server: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?a=00&b=13&c=2005&d=01&e=14&f=2005&g=d&s=TICN.BK http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?a=00&b=13&c=2005&d=01&e=14&f=2005&g=d&s=TICON.BK The only one that works is the very first one, which is the same results you saw. Unfortunately, I don't think it would be wise for us to switch back this server to use the old server again. Given that Yahoo doesn't refer people there anymore indicates it may go away at any time.
