: Is this correct:

: If we download and install the newest version of Fund Manager, decide we don't want it and wish to revert back to Version 6.x, our data will have been altered in such a way that 6.x will no longer work?

: Thanks.

Hi Jack,

This is not correct. Fund Manager 7.x uses the same investment file (*.dat) format as 6.x, but it does use a new portfolio file (*.mm4) format. If you save a portfolio file in 7.x you will no longer be able to open that same portfolio file in 6.x anymore. If you try to do this you will get a big warning dialog stating that you are about to save an old portfolio file in the new format, and asking you if you are sure. Other than this issue you can use 7.x with your 6.x data and switch back at any time if you'd like. On the download page there is also a link to some upgrade instructions that are good to read:

Thanks,
Mark
