Hi Danny,

You are very close, but the format string in this case would be:

SYMB,"DD MM YY",OO,HH,LL,NAV,VV

Notice, I just changed your MMM to MM and your YYYY to YY.

Thanks,
Mark

: Hi Mark
: I am trying to import a history file from COMSEC, this is how it is imported into excel

: AGL,"27 Apr 1995",4.308,4.406,4.308,4.3668,1095802
: AGL,"28 Apr 1995",4.3668,4.406,4.3668,4.406,427127

: As you can see it is in CSV format (ASX Code, Date, Open, High, Low, Close, Volume) and I tried to import it as a generic format with the following parameters

: SYMB,"DD MMM YYYY",OO,HH,LL,NAV,VV
: SYMB,"DDMMMYYYY",OO,HH,LL,NAV,VV
: SYMB, "DDMMMYYYY", OO, HH, LL, NAV, VV
: SYMB, "DD MMM YYYY", OO, HH, LL, NAV, VV

: all of these resulted in a message 'The specified input format is illegal'. Could you please let me know what to do. I even went to the extreme of changing the symbol to read AGL.AX still to no avail.

: thanks in advance,
: Danny
