Well my nice big post got lost. Musta broke the window space.
BUT
I have done major upgrades at least twice, last time with the beta of 7 and after reailzing all my old files get changed I reverted, i think, to my current 6 3 or such. The slick internet retrieve, using quicken or export to quicken or whatever, are all improvements.
More fancy schmancy formulae are not. HUH? I still need to KNOW what ROI or ROIyield or %gain I or V or HUH? all mean fairly little to me. Yet I still can and do use FM for decision making along with the charts, overlays, etc. SO IMPROVEMENTS?
Yep Colors in graphs that U can always read the text in the colored border, ready to go and work with. Buy sell Split etc marks that MEAN something, how bout a list from which to choose, split is simply an II B is BUY and green Sell is S and red and so on. GRAPHIC RECOGNATION. Time to hire someone that understands visual symbols vs their intended use.
STILL cant write DIRECTLY ON THE GRAPHS. HEY cant do it? Others can. Provide internatl sticky notes then that we can manage file etc. The SYSTEM is too DAMN closed. I cant take those graphs ANYWHERE, like into photoshop with layers, and stretch shrink overlay etc. AND carry my sticky notes along with... SO having used FM for 15 yrs Id guess, Getcher @LK@#$L@J#$KJ accountant and math hats off and inject some human being real use goodies/options. THEN its worth a upgrade. I just bought the new Toshiba Tablet PC with large screen. Voice recognition conversion to text. Tablet writing to text. Learns our voice inflections and writing quirks. Open up the tab and start writing. A miracle-TEXT. Isnt that coumputers in the 21 century???? Nextg step for me is my PDA voice notes played back to the Toshiba and converted to text. HEY I understand the words!!!! I can read the TEXT. So I M saddened by FM lack of imaginative solutions and the closed system that it works within. AND its all Apple IIe type calculations that are 20 yrs old!!
I wanna see the new, improved, flexible FM. Designed for the new millenium.
Not for yust the number crunchers. Can you provide answers in a form that INTUITION and INTROSPECTION can deal with? Not just the therotecians? LarsINmich Architect- visual and intuitive with mathametical basis
