Re: Updating bond prices[ Q2 03 - Q4 05 Archive ] [ Current Message Board ] [ Archives ] [ Search ] Posted by Mark on June 22, 2005 at 14:38:14:In Reply to: Updating bond prices posted by Tom on June 22, 2005 at 13:55:32: : Does anyone have suggestions for retrieving bond prices for periodic updates into FM? Here I mean mostly treasury notes. A question that's even more ambitious, is there a source for prices of brokerage CDs? For the CDs I would guess that the prices are only set by the trading desk of the brokerage. : I suspect that the answer to this question is to use whatever information one has and input it manually. But it never hurts to ask. : I did notice that ofxretr.txt received from a call to Fidelity for transactions also returns such prices for all positions in the account. This invites a question: could prices be automatically updated by the retrieve transaction command? It does not seem to be an option to specify Fidelity as a source for price updates in FM otherwise. : Thanks.
To answer the second part of your question, yes it would be quite possible to use the data from the transaction retrieve for updating prices. This may be an option we could add in a future version. I don't have an answer for you on the first part of your question, but if you find a good source, I'd be happy to put it on our Tips & Tricks page. Thanks,
