Earliest to date setting uses dates from other investments

When in a portfolio, setting the date range on an investment (right click -> date range, choose earliest to date under custom date ranges) cause the date range to be set to the range for the top left investment, not the current investment? Shoud earliest to date not be calculated for each investment individually? Personal version 7.2. Thanks,
