Excellent, glad you figured it out. I'll have to remember this one for the future. By design Fund Manager often re-uses standard Windows components, the Open and Save dialogs are indeed standard Windows dialogs, and will use the settings in Windows.

: the comment below caused me to think of this: i tried turning the winxp control panel>folder options>'single click to open' setting to 'double click to open'. this seems to fix it.

: apparently fm is confusing operating system settings with its internal settings. this is the first program that i have noticed doing this. i have other programs that ask if i want to use single or double click within the program, and they stay separate from the system settings. can it be corrected?

For example, single left mouse clicking should just hilight the file, not cause it to open. That is the behavior of a double left click. It almost sounds like a single left click is acting like a double, and a hover is acting like a single left click.
