: Mark, I think there is one sub-account for each currency, although I can see nowhere a separate number for such sub-account. If I send a certain amount in CHF it goes to the line CHF.
: For purchase of a stock, it will debit the corresponding default line, if I buy something on the Canadian market, it removes the amount and the fees from the CAD cash, if there was NO CAD, then this line becomes negative.
: Anyway, there is no problem with stock purcase, as the cash source is set as default for the sub portfolio. The problem is only with "pure cash" operations.

: Finally, I found a good example on Aug 3rd: I have only cash movements between different currencies on this day. Example between CAD and SFR.
: Everything is handled to and from USD cash by the import. Moreover the fees are just added to the settled amount.
: I had a look in the OFX file, there are indications of the origin and target currencies in such operations, but I am not enough familiar with this to be sure how it should be interpreted. I could send you this OFX file if you want to have a look.

Hi Didier,

So, you have one cash account defined in FM now, but you have multiple on IB, one for each currency? What do you mean by the term "line"?

If I understand correctly, it sounds like you should have a sub-portfolio and cash account for each currency, that way you could have a separate default cash account for each currency. That way, when you buy something on the Canadian market, it comes out of your CAD cash account, instead of the USD cash account.

I may have misunderstood the situation...

Sure, you can send me the OFX file, and specifics on one transaction that isn't importing as desired. I can elaborate on how it is represented in the OFX file.

Thanks,
Mark
