Everything seems to be working well with the exception of one quirk which I can't figure out. : : : I have two sub-portfolios that are showing 3 and 6 month Yields of 49950.03 and equally erroneous returns for 1,3,5 years in the Yield bar when I run the Prtfolio Value (and other) Graph. : : : The Reports for the sub-portfolios seem correct. : : : The graphs of the individual investments within the portfolio and reported yields also seem to be correct. : : : For example, the only investment in one of the sub-portfolios is a simple money market account with the following transactions: : : : 4/4/02 - Purchase $1100 : : : Monthly reinvestment of dividends between 4/02 and 2/05 totalling $38.10 : : : 2/28/05 - Sell $1138.10 : : : The value of this account is now $0.00 : : : When I run the Investment Value Graph with date range 3/1/2002 to 8/30/2005 the graph yields appear correct. But when I go to the Portfolio level, seeting that Portfolio as the Active Portfolio, and run the Portfolio Value Graph using the same date range I get a 3 month Yield of 49950 as noted above. : : : Can you explain why this is and how to correct it? Other than that the program seems ideally suited for my needs and expcet to register once I load all my data and : : : Thanks, Kevin : : : : If you only have 1 investment in a sub-portfolio, the yields for the sub-portfolio should indeed be the same as for the individual investment. Is it possible you have some other hidden investments in this sub-portfolio? Use "View / Hidden Investments" and the Portfolio Editor to take a look. Hidden investments will contribute to the portfolio yields. If this is not the problem, would you mind e-mailing me a sample portfolio file and investments so I can reproduce the problem here? Also, what version of Fund Manager are you using? : : Thanks, : : I am using version 7.4. All the investments in these sub-portfolios have no current shares in them and therefore have had their hidden attributes set. They have been brought to view using View/Hidden Investments. There are none missing. : What files do I need to e-mail for you to take a look? I created a "Test Portfolio" and copied the sub-portfolios to it. I assume you need the TestPor.mm4 and the XXX.dat for each investment, correct? Where do I e-mail them? : Thnaks, Kevin
If the hidden investments ever owned any shares during the time period of the yield term, then they will contribute to the yield, even if you don't own any as of the end yield date. I will email you now with our email address. We don't post it due to spam problems... Yes, I'd need the *.mm4 file, and all the *.dat investment files contained in that portfolio. Thanks,
