Quicken Import

Mark - I've been using FM for many years. Just recently realized that 7.4 supports sub portfolios, something I've always needed. So I'm giving it a test run.

Each account I have in Quicken has its own associated cash account. For example, "Ameritrade" is an investment account, and "Ameritrade cash" is the associated cash account. In Quicken, "Ameritrade cash" is classified as a "linked checking account". It works flawlessly in Quicken, automatically moving cash between the two accounts for stock sales/ purchases and dividends, all of which I record in "Ameritrade".

The problem:
I imported "Ameritrade.qif" as a sub-portfolio. No problem there. The possible "default cash account" drop-down box listed all the stocks in Ameritrade, which was of no use to me. So I converted "Ameritrade Cash" to a *.qif, and imported it, expecting to use it as the default cash account. But it has no securities in it, and strangely, no transactions to import. So that didn't work.

How can I get the cash account and its transactions imported and associated with my new sub-portfolio?
