File is marked with the read-only attribute

I tried to restore my data but it tells me File is marked with the read-only attribute, so I read the message board to go into window exployer and right click mouse on file and enter properties and remove the check mark that is next to read only. But it still will not let me restore my files. It says can not open backup file C:\September 19-2005.bc2 for reading. Can Anyone help me restore my data, I have alot of data in this file would hate to lose it.
