: : This looks good. Are you using the "Generic" price import? When you use the generic price import, you specify the format in that dialog, it doesn't need to be on the first line of the file. It doesn't hurt to be on the first line of the file though. I just did a quick test, and it imported okay using the "Input Format" string of:

: : SYMB MM DD YY OO HH LL NAV VV

: : You would want to make sure "specify date" and "specify symbol" are turned off, and if you don't already have this investment (GDVE) created, you'd want to turn on the option to create new investments as needed.

: Wow, thanks for the quick reply! :-)
: But ehhmmmm.... I am still having problems.

: Yes:
: - I am using "generic" (Ctrl-E) import
: - I had already created the symbol
: - I now noticed that I can enter the SYMB MM DD YY OO HH LL NAV VV into the drop-down box (which then gets saved for future use)
: - and yes: "specify date" and "specify symbol" are turned OFF.

: Still I am getting this error: "The specified import format did not match any lines in the imported file"

: I have tried to use that same import format with spaces (" ") inbetween as well as "," delimited. (Of course, the TXT-file looks differently in the latter case.) Nothing helps, the error remains. Should SYMB perhaps be inbetween paranthesis?

: Any help appreciated!

: Mark, I could send you screendumps in PDF with exact settings. Would you like to look into that? If so, to what address can I send it?

: Best regards,
: Stan

Hi Stan,

Yes, why don't you email me this file you're trying to import. Please email it as an attachment. There may be some small formatting problem, but if I have the original file, I can test it out here. A screen shot of some sort showing your import settings would also be helpful. To get our email address, just fill out the contact form at:

http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/contact.html

Upon submission you will see our email address, where you can send me these files. We try not to post our email address directly anymore, due to spam problems we've had in the past.

Thanks,
Mark
