: : I've been searching for a way to capture monthly and/or quarterly distributions to a file. This would be as a function of the date. It appears that from the report function one can do this, but that only gives the totals. I want to be able to work with distributions as a function of time in excel, say.

: : Guess there's no way to do this except by hand at present?

: : Thanks,

: Hi Marden,

: You can use the "File / Export / Transactions / Fund Manager Text..." menu command. Each investment gets exported to 3 files:

: .PRC - contains pricing information
: .INV - contains buy/sell transactions
: .DIV - contains distribution data

: The format of the .DIV file is space delimited, with each distribution on its own line. It will read into Excel nicely. Each line has these 5 fields:

: month day year distribution_per_share shares_repurchased

: If the distribution was distributed, the 'shares_repurchased' field will be 0, otherwise it shows the number of shares reinvested.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Thanks, Mark. Works just fine. I get the amount of divvies in a new column by multiplying the dist_per_shr column by number of shares.
