I ran into the same problem.
I use this site (http://fx.sauder.ubc.ca/data.html) to download a data file and use generic import to keep my "Cdn-US Exchange Rate" dat file up to date. I haven't done it since September 30 but I think obtained a CSV file and imported the data.
