There are a few options... 1) You could record the purchase of these new shares at a cost of $0. 2) You could temporarily set the default cash account for your portfolio to "None", and then record the purchase of these shares in this new stock. After recording the purchase, change your default cash account settings back. 3) You could record the purchase, and then go to the cash account and delete the automatic entry that debited the cash balance.
