: From the installation of the version that started using trendline I have had the following problem: : I put a trendline in the Portfolo graph. The trenline can not be deleted and has formed multiple trendline entries in the window for editing trendlines. When I try to edit or delete the trendline(s) the computer freezes as though it was processing some information. : I tried to load my portfolio in the latest version, 5.3. The porfolio I use really acts wierd. Certain investments won't show up and the same problem with ttrendlines. I expect that the trendline glitch is worse in the new versioin. : What do you advise? I would like to clear up the trend line problem and install the new version. : Dan Hi Dan, In versions prior to 5.3 any "portfolio" trendlines would get duplicated each time you re-opened a portfolio in the same FM session. If you have many of them, it may take a long time to delete them through the FM interface. You can either re-create your portfolio (by just opening the investments and re-saving the portfolio), or you can edit your portfolio file. The portfolio file is a text file, and has the extension .mm4. Open the .mm4 portfolio up in a text editor, such as notepad, and towards the bottom you will see a section for portfolio trendlines: [PTRENDLINES] 1 11,3,2001,11,4,2001,122.000000,0.000000,1,1 [ENDPTRENDLINES] In the above example there is 1 portfolio trendline in this portfolio. You probably have many more. If you edit this section to look like the following you can erase all your portfolio trendlines:
[PTRENDLINES] 0 [ENDPTRENDLINES] Thanks, Mark -- Mark Beiley
