Generic Import question

I am trying to use generic import of transactions. The open dialog box on version 6 allows me to specific the format which I entered as this.

UD,TRAN,SYMB,ANUM,BNUM,CNUM

Example lines from my text file look like this.

UD,TRAN,SYMB,ANUM,BNUM,CNUM
020624,BUY,JNJ,52.63,20,0.00
020701,BUY,JNJ,51.98,20,0.00
020715,BUY,JNJ,46.35,5,19.95

Question 1. If the format is specified in the open dialog box, then does it need to also be in the text file itself?

Question 2. If it must also be in the text file, does it need to be before each line to be imported as follows?

UD,TRAN,SYMB,ANUM,BNUM,CNUM
020624,BUY,JNJ,52.63,20,0.00
UD,TRAN,SYMB,ANUM,BNUM,CNUM
020701,BUY,JNJ,51.98,20,0.00
UD,TRAN,SYMB,ANUM,BNUM,CNUM
020715,BUY,JNJ,46.35,5,19.95
