: I reinstalled Fund Manager on a new computer, and moved my investment and : portfolio files also. The directory structure for data is different on the : new machine. I can open the investments OK, but when I try to open a portfolio : it can't find the investments because it is looking in the drive and path for the : old computer, both of which are different in the new computer. Is there any way : to tell the portfolios where to look for the investment files on the new computer? : I know I can rebuild all the portfolios from scratch, but I was hoping a : shortcut might be available. Thanks. : Don Range Hi Don, In older versions of FM (prior to 4.0) portfolios contained the full path to their investments, which causes the problem you're having now. In FM 4 and later, the paths are relative to the location of the portfolio file itself, which solves this problem. Given that it sounds like you have older styled portfolios, you have a couple of choices. One, you can edit the *.mm4 portfolio files with a text editor, to update the path of the investments. Second, you can just re-create the portfolios. This second option is preferred, and quite easy if you are using FM 4 or later, as you can open multiple investments at once. From inside the "File/Open Investments..." dialog you can select multiple investments using the Ctrl and/or Shift keys. Thanks, Mark -- Mark Beiley
