: : : Is it possible to combine investments on a PVR?

: : : I have three different mutual fund portfolios (IRA, SEP and savings) that contain some the same mutual funds (ie. Small Cap Fund). When I run a PVR on any ONE of the portfolios... no problem. The percentage is accurate and relative to that list of investments on the PVR. However, when I run my "master" portfolio that combines each and every investment, investments appear multiple times. The Small Cap fund for example appears 3 times and has 3 percentages relative to all the other items listed.

: : : Where did I go wrong?

: : Hello,
: : Sounds like in your "master" portfolio, you have the same investment
: : opened multiple times. Is this the same investment file (*.dat), or
: : are these different files, but tracking the same investment? If the
: : 3 entries are the same file, then just close the extra 2 open instances.
: : You can right click on them, and choose "Close Investment" from the
: : popup menu.

: : Thanks,
: : Mark

: Mark,
: I have 3 separate DAT files of different amounts on different days in different accounts (SEP, IRA, and savings). My "master" portfolio calls the 3 DATs to give the correct grand total but lists the same "investment" 3 times because of the three files. My question is can you merge the 3 at the master level so the "investment" only appears once with the correct value and percentage relative to the other investments?

: Thanks,
: Blaz

Hi Blaz,
No, you can't do this in the PV report. You can do a stacked or pie graph,
and sort the data by "symbol", which would accomplish what you are asking, but
in a graphic form.

Thanks,
Mark
