"connect through proxy server" error

To retrieve internet prices, I had to set FM to use the
"connect through proxy server" option. I have
correctly added the IP address of the proxy and set the port (8080) - these are
the same settings I use in netscape and in another application (AvantGo for
downloading web pages to a Palm).

(I'm not using a modem to dial into an ISP; I use a LAN-based connection
to the internet.)

However, I always get an error when trying to retrieve prices or when I
"retrieve status now ..." - the FM error is

Error: 11004 returned from [gethostbyaddr_prox]

Setting the "Use Authorization" (which I should need to do given our LAN
set up) shows the same error. I get the error when trying to connect to any
of the Quote Servers.

I originally had this error with version 4.02 and now with 4.2.211.

Any ideas on how to avoid this error so I can retrieve prices from the internet?
