: : I track many of Fidelity's Mutual Funds, some of them I own and some I don't. My : : problem is when a dividend is declared, the funds I own I can put the dividend in, : : but if I don't own the fund I can't put the dividend in (the nav is reduced and : : this shows up as a loss)and this effect a lot of the reports. Is their anyway : : I can get around this? : : Thanks : : Gene : Hi Gene, : If you are using the latest version of FM, you can track dividends in : investments you don't own, just as you can with investments you do own. : You will be given the chance to enter a dist/share if you don't own shares : for FM to do this calculation for itself. : Fund Manager does not reduce the NAV, this happens as a result of the : distribution. Recording the distribution will track this, so that performance : figures are reported accurately. : Thanks, : Mark : -- : Mark Beiley : : Fund Manager for Windows 3.1x/95/98/NT : : Mark I tried what you said and it works fine except when I put the 0 value in some of the funds it goes right to the calculation and doesn't give me a chance to put the dividend in. I also noticed it seems to happen only with the funds I preveiously owned and sold. Any suggestions? Thanks Gene
