export reports in a tab/comma delimited format suggestion

Currently, when copying a report to the clipboard and then to uSoft Word, I get a text file with lots of spaces separating the different columns of data. I would like to be able to copy/export a data file which is tab or comma delimited. This would then allow me to easily convert the report to a table in Word or Excel. Is there a way to do this that I have missed?
