: Hi. I've been using FM for a couple years now and have about 15 portfolios created,
: containing as many as 20 or 30 symbols each. Lately when I start the program or
: open the main portfolio, the screen flashes the custom window 10 or 15 times with a message
: "calculating report data" and then loads the screen I use for startup, the 9 displays
: window. I was wondering whether there's a way to get FM to stop loading the custom report
: data window before going to the actual startup window to speed up the process of loading
: the portfolio.

: Thanks. Also, the Canada Stockwatch update is a real timesaver compared to quicken.ca
: for Cdn mutuals, and Stockwatch can be used for ALL markets - Cdn, US,Cdn
: mutuals, and any major index, which avoids the need to update from two different sources.

: For Cdn users, the Stockwatch symbol syntax is different than most. Here's
: the link to their symbol list: http://www.stockwatch.com/sw/qqqlookup.dbm?#2

Hi Kim,

Starting with Fund Manger 4.0 portfolios can now remember which
reports to create when opening a portfolio. You can turn this
feature on/off under a reports menu by selecting "Options/Report
Preferences.../General" and turning on/off "Portfolios Store and
Recall Reports".

If you want to leave this feature on, you can just close all of the
reports that you don't want created each time you open this portfolio,
and then re-save your portfolio. If you leave the feature turned
on, a portfolio will re-open any reports open when you last issued
"File/Save Portfolio".

Thanks,
Mark
