: What file format and format string were you using for the generic import
: that wouldn't work?

I was using the file format as generated from Infobeat, for example:
"CHTR",22.313,"11/29/1999"
"C",53.750,"11/29/1999"

Inforbeat went from reporting dates in 2 digits to dates in 4 digits sometime
between August and October, 1999, though it had no impact at the time.
Going from memory, I believe the format string was "SYMB",NAV,"MM/DD/YY""
and that worked fine during 1999 at home. It also worked -- and continues to
work -- from the two machines I tested yesterday (e.g., with lines such as
"CHTR",20.125,"01/05/2000"). It does not work, however, from home for data
after December 31, 1999.
