: : : I have a portfolio of stocks, all of which have been sold. When I do a Portfolio
: : : performance report I get strange numbers such as negative numbers in the
: : : "Invested" column equal to the capital gain. Is there a way to get the report
: : : to display with more useful numbers? (the numbers are correct, just not very
: : : "intuitive" for judging the performance). Thanx

: : If your investments are closed, and you don't wish to view them, but want
: : to keep them in your portfolio, you can "Hide" them under their "Investment
: : Properties..." dialog.

: : If you prefer to see different performance data, you can create your own custom
: : report, and memorize it.

: : Thanks,

: Mark,

: I'd like to see the investments from a "beginning" to "end" standpoint but if I
: simply do a performance report with the buy date and sell date I get beg. value
: and ending value as zero. what I really would like to see is the amount invested
: as beg. value and the sales proceeds as end value - like in the Capital gains
: report - but I could not find "Sell Value" and "cost basis" in the list of variables
: available in the custom reports - am I missing something??

: John

Hi John,
The "Sell Value" is not available in the custom report, as there could
be many. The cost basis is available. There is either the OOP cost,
or the tax cost basis (Tax basis FIFO (end)...).

If you want the initial investment in your beg. value, you would set the
starting date to the day after your purchase. The beg value is the
value at the start of the day of the beginning report date.

Thanks,
Mark
