: : : I just noticed that Fund Mgr 4.4.216 reopens any reports (std or custom) that were open when Fund Mgr was shut down. I also discovered that in my case I will often exit from a report by clicking the X in the top right corner of the Fund Mgr window. Fund Mgr was simply reopening additional copies of the same report. Over time, I had gotten many (20-30) copies of the same report running making Fund Mgr startup and shut down get slower and slower. I had assumed it was simply growth in price history and/or enhancements. I happened upon this by selecting the WINDOWS drop down which had Fund Mgr and the many REPORT windows.

: : : While I don't min Fund Mgr reopening the report, I question if it was intended that multiple copies of the same report were to be opened. They all had the same date range and were identical.

: : : Great product/support, VERY few problems and thanks for adding remembering landscape for reports across executions. Good job.

: : : Let me know if you need more info or have any questions.

: : Hi Jim,
: : This is actually a feature. FM portfolios can remember your reports, and
: : re-open them for you. You can disable this if you want under "Options/
: : Report Preferences...". If you have "Options/Save Portfolio On Exit"
: : turned on, you may be creating reports, quiting FM, which then saves your
: : portfolio with the newly opened report. You may wish to turn off
: : "Save Portfolio On Exit", and just save your portfolio whenever you wish,
: : or close your reports before closing FM.

: : Thanks,
: : Mark

: I can see having one copy of the report saved and reopened, but should you be saving multiple copies of the same report? Since they all open with the same date range won't they always be duplicates?

: Thanks,
: Jim

Jim,
Portfolios just save whatever reports you have open when you save the
portfolio. If you have multiple reports with the same settings open, then
it will save that. You can close all the duplicate reports, and then save
your portfolio. That way you will only get one copy next time you open that
portfolio. It is meant to be flexible, so you can save whatever reports you
want, however you like. It just saves whatever reports you have open when
you save the portfolio.

Thanks,
Mark
