: Mark,

: When recording a reinvested distribution it is also possible to record an associated commission fee. This fee however is not taken into account in the sum of distributions in the standard reports (e.g. Distribution Summary Report, or Portfolio Performance report).

: Only if I record this fee as a seperate "Account Fee" (with a negative Distribution) I can see the costs associated with a specific investment. Unfortunataly in this way there is no association with the transaction.

: What's the reason between this difference, and what would be the best way to report on the total amount of commission fees, in total, and for each investment?

: P.s. Thanks for the quick-update on the European-Investor download!

: Thanks,

: Tjeerdo

Hi Tjeerdo,
You can record commission fees on any transaction: buy, sell, or
distribution. These commission fees are included in performance
figures, such as yields. They are not considered distributions, so
they don't show up as a distribution. You can show your commission fees
summary as one of the options in the custom report. Account fees on
the other hand are treated as negative distributions. Commission fees
are associated with the cost of a particular transaction, and should
be recorded that way. Account fees are separate fees, such as an
annual account fee for an IRA.

Thanks,
Mark
