: : Hi Mark,
: : Could you please let me know if FM can calculate and how, the following?

: : Suppose I have got 5 year historical data for a group of shares,(say FTSE 100):

: : Then,

: : 1)I want to calculate the share price change (actually the percentage price increase ) for every stock over a period (say 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, within of course the 5 year period I have got tha data, i.e. March 2nd and Dec 2nd 1999).

: : 2)I want to sort these into order (ascending or descending), based on the percentage increase between the March figure and the December figure.

: :
: : I would much appreciate your help.

: : Harry

: Hi Harry,
: You can use the "%Gain-F" figure, which is the percent change in share
: price, including distributions. You can get this figure in a variety
: of reports. For instance, the "Investment Performance" report will calculate
: the %Gain-F for the date range of the report. You can then sort on this
: column under "Investments/Sort By/% Gain". The custom report also has
: a variety of %Gain-F figures, like 3 month, 6 month, 1 year, etc....
: You can't sort based on those, but you can see them there. You could also
: create multipe investment performance reports for the date ranges of interest,
: and use those to sort.

: Thanks,
: Mark

Thank you Mark, but what about a 9 month %Gain-F?
Sorry, I dont ask because I am a bit strange but because there is a kind of a mechanical strategy I am interested for.
Thank you
Harry
