I found a document that discusses how Microsoft Money interprets OFX - download.microsoft.com/download/a/3/d/a3da081d-333e-4c5b-8029-815a932e5b19/OFX_Message_Support.doc : In the document it says that "Money only has one associated cash account per investment account." p69 section 13.9.2.7 See also the discussion of INVBAL and INVPOSLIST. Even after all that, it is not crystal clear to me whether Money expects an entry in INVPOSLIST for the cash account or not. I can only assume it does not - otherwise all Money users would complain given the popularity of Fidelity accounts. But how does it associate the cash balance with the entry in SECLIST? : I see that Fidelity sends OFX version 2 format. I did not have enough energy to dig into the OFX XML Schema or other definitions. : I don't hold much hope of reaching someone at Fidelity who is knowledgable at this level. : Thanks, : Tom
After thinking about it some more, maybe what FM should do, is use this "Available Cash" only when there is no position stated for the investment assigned as the default cash account in FM. This way, it should handle the cash being reported either way. If you'd like to help beta test this change, please drop me an email. Thanks,
