I currently use M* portfolio manager (premium) X-Ray feature to show me exactly how a portfolio decomposes into basic asset classes. I find this hugely helpful because regardless of how a fund is named or what I think it contains, X-Ray tells me how much US, foreign, bonds, large/mid/small/growth/value is really there (at least how much based on M*s definition and calculations). Obviously this is the same information they display on the snapshot, but X-ray "integrates" the numbers from all funds in a portfolio, giving me a comprehensive picture.

?does Fund Manager do this, or something similar or ????
