I'm having trouble with the input of a certain redemption/distribution. Ex. If i start off with a cash account of $100,000 on march 3, 2006 and and the end of the year (let's say december 31, 2006) i decide to pay out an expense (i.e., business travel)of $9,000, why don't i get a negative amount when i view the "portfolio report" from "earliest to date." shouldn't it read "begining value 100,000" and "current value 91,000?" : My issue is this. Through out the year, i have gone long and short on certain investments. When I "redeem" a portion in my cash account for a misc. expense, the begining and end values are subtracted by that amount, hence it is more difficult for me to track how much the equity of my portfolio was at inception and its value today. : i apologize for the simple question, i'm still working my way around the program Hello scubasteve, Are you looking at a "Portfolio Performance" report? There is a common question about reporting of the beginning value in this report. The "Beginning" value in this report is the value as of the morning of the starting report date. This means, any deposits made on the starting report date, are not included in the beginning value. The beginning value is the same as the value as of the close the prior day. Thanks,
