displaying an index

I have an investment .dat file for the Dow Jones Industrial index, ^dji.dat. I would swear I've been able to look at this by itself in the past, but when I open it now (by itself) all I see in the graph window is "The portfolio Master Portfolio has no investments to display". When I look at Edit..All data there is nothing there. Am I just doing something stupid?
